What we care about
From helping to fund clean drinking water projects in third-world countries, to assisting in disaster relief right here in the United States, we are dedicated to using our resources to serve others.
This attitude of giving back can be seen in all 100 + employees and through the different organizations and causes they contribute to.
“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”
The Pasco Home
Lynn has been cooking for people for as long as she can remember. As a child, she was taught to cook by her mother, but she says it was her mother-in-law that instilled a passion for turning simple dishes into masterpieces. There’s no better place to see this passion for cooking than at the Pasco Home, a Christian-based transitional home for those recovering from addiction. Once a month, Lynn gives her time to help feed over 30 part-time residents of the home. She makes everything from slow roasted pork with slaw to local favorites like red beans and rice and says that she is careful to never make the same dish twice.
“Learn as if you were to live forever.”
As a child, Jennifer was always curious about her family background. It wasn’t until her early twenties that Jennifer discovered she was Native American. It was this experience that sparked her passion for personal genetics and helping others find details about their family history. Jennifer now volunteers for Search Angels, a genealogy and DNA testing organization that assists people with finding their biological relatives.
“Helping adult adoptees identify their biological parents has brought so much joy to my life.”
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”
Smith’s Fire and Rescue
Anthony is passionate about serving his community. He works full time as a paramedic and part time with Synergy Laboratories, but for fun enjoys running into burning buildings with his brothers and sisters at Smith's Fire & Rescue. He has been involved with Smith’s Fire and Rescue since 2003 and says that serving others is the most rewarding thing he does. As a member of the department, he responds to medical calls, motor vehicle accidents and fire calls. “I praise God that he has blessed me with the opportunity to show hope and compassion to people during some of the worst times of their lives.”
“Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
Nicole has been involved in Camp Rap-A-Hope since 2015, when her younger cousin began attending. Having family members battle with childhood cancer has made this cause very near to her heart. Camp Rap-A-Hope is an organization that provides a free week-long summer camp to current and former cancer patients. The camp is open to children between the ages of 7 and 17 and is completely free. Each year this organization hosts fundraising events like Wine, Women and Shoes and the Turkey Trot to help ensure more kids around the Gulf Coast can enjoy a week of fun over the summer.

In December of 2017, Synergy launched its stewardship program, Ripples. The program encourages employees to “Make A Splash" by performing acts of kindness for family members, friends, or strangers. The goal is that each person will make their own ripple that will create a domino effect to impact numerous lives.
